Street Fashion Museum - Street Fashion Then and Now

Ildikó Simonovics is an art historian, museologist, director of the Textile Collection of the Kiscell Museum of the Budapest History Museum, doctor of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of the Modern Age Department of the University of Pécs. She curated the following succesful exhibitions: 1997 - The Discrete Grace of a Lady of Fashion: Women's Underwear over the Past One Hundred Years; 1999 - French Elegance: Fashion Accessories from Paris; 2004 - Corsetry Garments: Exhibition of the Fashion Designer Dóra Konsánszky; 2007 - Showcase: Fashion in the Socialist Era; 2008 - Fashion and Tradition: Pictures and Objects from the Workshops of Declining Crafts and Contemporary Designers. She is the author of several essays on the history of fashion, and the curator of the project streetfashionbudapest launched in 2010. Her researchfield is fashion in the Socialist era and contemporary fashion in Hungary.
