Shoe design today reveals a great deal of inventiveness and originality: there are elegant and more classical styles, experimental designs and uniquely individual products as well as futuristically engineered concepts. Shoes have been a crucial part of the wardrobe throughout history. The function of protection was soon amplified, and shoes took on decorative and individual forms, depending on time and culture. Nowadays, footwear and accessories are the most lucrative and important facets of the fashion industry. New ideas are emerging, pushing boundaries and taking creativity to a new level. This book presents designers that have a unique identity regardless of commerciality, and a strong voice of their own, current trends aside.
