The decline of Japan, the revitalization of the U.S. and the technological explosion are the focus of chapters six, seven and eight. A final section returns to the political, economic and business issues of world realignment, exploring new directions in the relationships among Japan, Europe and the U.S., with an eye toward the rapid consumerization of Eastern Europe, the Soviet Union and Communist China.
